Hayley Jorja
About
Hayley Jorja is a Dublin born writer, editor and designer. After graduating from the National College of Art and Design in 2020, she decided to follow her love of storytelling and pursue a career in film. Without a formal education in scriptwriting or filmmaking she had to rely on her own initiative to create opportunities to gain experience. She volunteered as a script reader, reached out to other creatives and took on her own self-directed learning to develop her skills.
Since then she's gained experience in a number of different fields. While she is still interested in telling her own stories, she's also found a passion for developing the stories of others. Her work as a script reader has allowed her to work with other writers to help them develop the stories they're passionate about. She also designs pitches and other visual aids for various projects, using her visual arts background to help bring the stories she's excited about to life.
Her own media analysis and culture critique essays are published on her Substack 'The Art of The Crash Out.' Here she dives into the pressing ideas about the intersection of art and culture.
